Workflow

Find the publication. Work with the relevant content.

Horizon gives readers an interactive publication experience across supported content formats. The selected delivery determines where libraries are held and how they are accessed.

  1. Open the library

Select an entitled publication library and the aircraft or product configuration relevant to the task.

  2. Find the information

Use search, publication navigation, cross-references and linked graphics to reach the required content.

  3. Work in context

Read procedures, parts data and related information, with supported offline deliveries available where connectivity is limited.

Capabilities

Keep technical information connected to the task.

Search and navigation

Search published content and move through its publication structure. Follow links between procedures, references, figures and related technical information.

Applicability and effectivity

Filter supported content using the aircraft and product configuration carried through publishing. Keep the configuration visible while reading.

Illustrated parts data

Move between figure callouts and parts tables, with related information linked where it is available in the publication.

Interactive technical graphics

Work with CGM and SVG graphics, hotspots and wiring information. Follow supported graphic links and trace relationships across technical sheets.

Reading workspace

Use multiple tabs and two panes for related content. Reading state and personal annotations help users return to their work.

Locally held publication libraries

Horizon Desktop, iOS and Android can hold encrypted libraries for offline use. Delta updates and resumable transfer support delivery of revised content.

Technical graphics

S1000D graphics and wiring diagrams.

Use S1000D technical illustrations and wiring diagrams alongside the publication content. Follow supported hotspots, figure callouts, parts information and references while working through a procedure or drawing.

Available behavior depends on the source content and its published structure. A graphic does not gain wiring or applicability behavior simply because it is displayed.

Practical questions

Frequently asked questions

Which Horizon deliveries work offline?

Horizon Desktop, iOS and Android hold complete libraries locally for offline use. The Network Data Server serves a locally held library over the site LAN. Horizon Web is accessed through the installation’s browser interface.

Can we use libraries from more than one OEM?

Supported native deployments can hold publications from multiple NIVOMAX suppliers. Each supplier’s content, licenses, entitlements and security context remains separate.

Does a Horizon software license include publication subscriptions?

The NIVOMAX software license and the data licenses for publication libraries are separate. The OEM or publications supplier controls publication entitlement, with administration through Axis.

Are the same capabilities available on every delivery?

Choose the delivery against your workflow and operating environment. Delivery-specific behavior, optional extensions and device requirements should be reviewed with Synaxiom rather than assumed to be identical.

Demos and licensing

See Horizon with the publications your teams use.

Tell Synaxiom about your content, devices, fleet and connectivity requirements. We will help you choose deliveries and arrange a demonstration. Customer-content demonstrations require the appropriate authorization.
